Vehicle Shipping

Q. Can I ship goods inside of my car or other vehicle?

A. No, when you ship a vehicle to or from Hawaii, the vehicle must be empty of all goods and personal effects.  You may leave the spare tire and tire jack inside the vehicle.

Q. How much gas should be in my vehicle when I ship it?

A. When you ship a vehicle to or from Hawaii, make sure it has no more than 1/4 tank of gas when it arrives at the origin port.

Q. Do my goods get shipped at the same time as my vehicle?

A. Sometimes, but not always.  Your goods are shipped separately from your vehicle.  Sometimes your goods and vehicle can be on the same ship, but sometimes due to space availability, your vehicle will go on a different sailing than your goods.  This means your vehicle may be ready to be picked up at destination before or after your goods have arrived.

Q. How long does it take to ship my goods between Hawaii and the mainland?

A. The time it takes to ship goods between Hawaii and the mainland can vary based on many factors such as time of year, backlog at ports, location that the shipment begins / ends (remote areas take longer), geographic region of your shipment on the mainland (west coast, east coast, mid states), weather, inspections, and many other unforeseeable events which may occur.  Generally, transit times between Hawaii and the mainland range from 20 to 40 business days.

Q. What types of shipping options do you offer?

A. We offer many types of shipping options to meet the unique needs and budgets of all.  We ship door to door, door to port, port to door, and port to port.

Q. How can I receive an estimate?

A. Receiving an estimate from us is very easy, automatic, and instantaneous!  Simply click here and then select the "Estimate / Reserve Move" button.  Answer the questions about your shipment and you will receive an immediate Hawaiian shipping estimate in real-time.

Q. Do you sell packing materials and supplies?

A. Absolutely!  On the day of your move, the foreman will offer many types of packing materials and supplies for your purchase.  If you would like to begin packing your items before the move day, we also also packing materials for sale.  Click for Moving Boxes and Packing Supplies.

Q. If I move to Hawaii with WPR Global Shipping, Inc., and decide that Hawaii is not for me, can I get a discount on moving back to the mainland?

A. Yes, if you use our services to move to Hawaii, and you decide to move back to the mainland within 6 months, we will charge you only 75%.

Q. How can I determine the size of my shipment?

A. One factor in determining the price you will pay to ship your goods to or from Hawaii will be based on the size, in cubic feet, of your shipment.  The easiest way to determine the size of your shipment is to use our free, automatic cubic feet calculator.  Enter the quantity of each item you are shipping into the calculator and it will determine the cubic feet of your shipment automatically.  Alternatively, you can get an idea of the size of your shipment by multiplying the length x the width x the height.  We measure based on the bulkiest points.

Q. Can I change my moving/shipping date after I make a reservation?

A. Absolutely.  If you need to change your moving/shipping date after you booked your move with us, simply email us at info@westpointrelocation.com with your name, job/reference number, and your new moving date.  You may also call us to change your moving/shipping date toll-free at (877) 659-2766.

Q. How do I cancel a move after I made a reservation?

A. Cancelling a move is easy.  Simply fill out the cancellation request form or call toll-free (877) 659-2766.  Please note your cancellation will not be finalized until you receive confirmation from us.  There will be no cancellation fee unless you cancel within 7 days of your move.  Click here for more details.

Q. When must I accept delivery of my goods?

A. We will notify you in advance when you shipment will be ready for delivery.  You will have a three (3) day grace period from the time your shipment is ready for delivery in which to accept your goods.  If you do not accept delivery of your goods within this three (3) day window, detention fees will apply and will be calculated based on the following formula: $20 per 100 cubic feet per day.

Q. Do I get storage with my move?

A. You get one month of free storage on all jobs to/from Hawaii.  The one month begins on the date your goods are picked up.  If you need additional storage time, a fee will apply.
